Do You Love Game of Thrones as Much as Stacey Kennedy?
I am a Game of Thrones junkie. Why? I honestly have no idea. I’m a romance author, which means I’m a big believer in having a happily-ever-after. Truthfully, any movies or TV shows that don’t end on a happy note leave me incredibly grumpy. I need that moment when I know that no matter what the characters have gone through that in the end they are happy.
Now for anyone who has watched Game of Thrones, you’ll know that we haven’t seen a happily-ever-after in the series yet. Even as I watch the show I keep gasping in horror when someone dies or something horrible happens to one of the characters. And that seems to happen in every single episode, yet…I cannot get enough!
So what is it that keeps me coming back for more, even though it goes against everything I need from a storyline?
It’s my love for the amazing cast of characters. Partly my attachment to them is the biggest problem, because I find myself completely heartbroken when they go through the hell they do. But that’s exactly what keeps me coming back. I need to know what happens to them. It’s like a train wreck waiting to happen, but I’m too addicted to get off.
My two favorite characters are Arya Stark and Daenerys Targaryen. While they have gone through brutal times, I’m holding out hope that by the end of this series they don’t end up dead. Or they somehow survive this crazy ride of hell, and they both get a happily-ever-after that my romantic heart needs for them. I know…it’s a long shot!
The other reason I have big love for this show is the sensuality. What can I say? There is some fantastic sex going on in Games of Thrones, and the men have bodies that keep me grinning! All I need to say is two words: Khal Drogo. I have no shame in admitting that when he was on the show he was one MAJOR reason I watched. His whole alpha male persona just worked. Really, really worked!! And then there is Jon Snow—he’s just so sigh worthy! Right, ladies?
From the incredible cast of characters, to the amazing plotlines, and even the sexy moments, it all makes me a huge fan of Game of Thrones. So, will I be watching the new season, even though I anticipate a serious broken heart at the end?
