Flirt University – New Adult Psychology 101 with Cassie Mae (plus #giveaway!)
Welcome to Flirt New Adult University! Today’s class is New Adult Psychology 101 with Professor Cassie Mae. Cassie is the author of Flirt’s FRIDAY NIGHT ALIBI and the upcoming SWITCHED (on sale December 12), and she’s here to show you the mindset of new adult heroes and heroines. She’s also a big fan of visuals (as you’ll see below).
When getting into the mind of a New Adult, let’s all start with high school graduation. How did you feel that day?
Moving on out!
And you tell the world…
But then you start to realize…
Wait… How much do they take out for taxes????
I shouldn’t have drank so much last night
My roommate smells like cheese.
After a month or so, you get a little…
I miss my mommy!
And you see that hot guy/girl that lives two minutes away.
After a while, you’ve learned to appreciate anything that is not top ramen.
Family is awesome
And you discover things about yourself you never knew before.
I CAN wash dishes without a dishwasher!
Life becomes YOURS. You travel your own road, turn around and travel another one that’s yours, and you keep finding more forks, more merges, and you keep going, and just when you think you’ve got a grip on things, it turns again.
But you got this. You’re doing it on your own. You fall in love, you fall out of love, you fail classes, skip classes, excel in classes, don’t even take classes… you meet new people, you work A LOT, and you’re tired and energized, and you love and hate every second of it.It’s life, and you slowly… slowly start to get that.
And yes… it’s awesome.
So when you write a NA, remember this very important thing… it’s not about writing how a new adult sounds like, it’s writing how THIS new adult sounds like as they experience life on their own.
