Holiday Romances from Random House – which do you choose?
Are you looking for a book to put you in the Holiday mood?
This is the time of year many of us crave those stories that give us hope, and re-instill in us the beliefs and traditions of family, friends and relationships. Books where the hero is real, knowing that he will fight to the end to protect his heroine, no matter the cost. Books where the heroine is strong, understanding and a good person who is only trying to do the right thing, no matter how convoluted the outcome. Books where families stand by one another and support each other through thick or thin, no matter what the situation. The books I choose to read for Holiday, do just that – they reinstate values through wonderfully written stories, where characters have their ups and downs, but in the end, they find one another and the love they were meant to share.
These are some of the books that I’ve enjoyed over the year – and I’d like to share them with you — Enjoy!
The Secret Mistress – by Mary Balogh – a Prequel to the mistress trilogy, followed by More Than A Mistress & No Man’s Mistress, is a regency set story where an aristocratic hero is enticed by a young, spirited lady of the town. Not only will you enjoy the author’s writing but the freshness of the story will leave you anxiously awaiting for more of Balogh’s books. The sweet interaction between the characters and a man who is dictated by duty, makes a wonderful mix for romance.
Prey by Linda Howard, is a book I chose because I adore her heroes — rugged, sexy, sarcastically wonderful fun, and Dare Callahan depicts that to a ‘T’. Although the story is more suspense, as they escape the dangers of the wild, the relationship sizzles, which is ultimately why I read romance
Deeper Than Midnight by Lara Adrian is for all of you paranormal fans that need a fix — This story continues with the Midnight Breed Series that heightens urban fantasy romance to a new level. After many years of captivity and torment, Corinne is rescued by the Order, where our hero, Hunter is now faced with his bonded/mutual desire, Corinne and trying to choose to do what is right – very sexy, and fiercely romantic, Deeper Than Midnight, will only wet your whistle for the rest of the series. If you don’t want to start out of order, begin with Kiss of Midnight
Emily March created Eternity Springs and I’m still trying to find it on Google maps as it is so darn real! Angel’s Rest begins this journey introducing the sweet hometown with quirky characters, small town living and oh yeah, sexy heroes . . . yum. Lover’s Leap is in stores 12/27, and is the fourth full book in the series – don’t miss Mistletoe Mine which is a sweet little Holiday Novella.
Devil in Disguise began Stefanie Sloane’s, Regency Rogues, followed by, The Angel In My Arms & The Sinner Who Seduced Me– and look for, The Saint Who Stole My Heart in April 2012! Anytime I can travel back to Regency London and encounter sexy rogues I’m there — need I say more?
There are so many more wonderful stories that are comforting to read — they may have a Holiday theme, or maybe not – what are some of your comfort stories to read & why?
