November 2 is BOOK LOVERS DAY! by Nancy Naigle & Kelsey Browning
Takes one to know one and I recognized you as one immediately! It’s been a while since I’ve been here so I was super excited to be back on Book Lovers Day.
Not only is reading an awesome hobby, but we have more ways than ever to enjoy books. We’re getting creative about how and where we can sneak in some reading so we can ~ READ. RELAX. REPEAT.
Book clubs are becoming more innovative too. Last Friday I spent the evening with the BOOK CLUB BABES in Suffolk, VA. They take turns hosting the get together with dinner and wine. We had a few of Guy Fieri’s amazing appetizers and then moved on to bowls of homemade Brunswick stew and salad. Good friends, good food, good wine and good books. Now that spells good times if you ask me!
But it doesn’t stop three. Each month the book of the month gets an honored with a scrapbook page. While the gals nibble and catch up on what’s been going on the past month, they each take turns signing the scrapbook page with their thoughts about the latest read. It’s a fun and creative tradition. Last year they had a calendar of those book pages put together for everyone in the club.
Here’s a sample of the pages from a couple of my books that they’ve read.
What will you do to celebrate Book Lovers Day?
So what will you do special on book lovers day?
• Hang out at the library.
• Visit your favorite bookseller.
• Snuggle up with a book in a quiet spot.
• Start your own book loving tradition.
• Make holiday ornaments out book pages. (Blame pinterest!)
• Share one of your treasured reads with someone else who really needs a break.
No matter what you decide…it’s sure to be a good day, because what’s not to love about a day dedicated to book lovers!
Hugs and happy reading~
