The height of my hero – what’s too tall & what’s too small
The greatest joy of reading romance is being able to visualize our own heroes – height, eye color, hair color, physique and more. But, when is a hero too tall? Or, too small? That’s our topic for the day -Happy Romance!
I love heroes of most shapes and sizes, however, being on the tall side myself a tall hero is certainly preferable. Of course too tall is not so much fun either — when a hero tops 6’5″, that is tall!
Have you ever met a professional basketball player in real life . . . . 7′ is huge! When you are that tall, everyday life needs to become a thought out process – buying clothes would be more difficult; driving a car (how do they squeeze into a Malibu?); sitting on an airplane, in a theater, neither of those places ever have enough leg room . . . . and what about sleeping in a bed, they must have to crunch up on their sides, so uncomfortable!
But, can a hero be too small? While Tom Cruise is a very good looking guy, 5’5″ is rather short for a man — wayyyyyyyyyy too short for me
Nev in Ruthie’s recently released book, ABOUT LAST NIGHT, is over 6′; most of the Demon Hunters in Kenyon’s books are 6’5″ or so; JR Ward keeps the Brotherhood on the tall size . . .
So, what do you think the perfect height for a hero is? What is too tall & what is too small?
